try Norwich Union, I know that they accept NCB up to 3 years old, I don't know of any that will accept over that. The majority will only accept up to two years, as if you haven't driven in the past two years you are considered an inexperienced driver, therefore a higher risk to the insurer and your premiums are likely to increase. You are better off telling your insurer how long ago your NCB expired as failure to do so may invalidate your policy or cause you to have to pay an additional premium in the event of a claim.
