Meal worms wont breed?

i have about five hundred adult beetles for over two months now and no babys why/ i keep them at room temp wit a wash clost to hide in and feed them a mix of zukini aquash and carrots i use plaim oat meal with crushed tetra flakes for bedding and they wont breed can anyone tell me why?
