I was invited to a disiplinary meeting at work regarding my frequent absensess?

the outcome resulted in a letter saying that all allegations against me were dropped , because i was able to prove that i wasnt absent on the days my boss said i was. i applied for another pat time job and gave my bosses name and number as a refererance ,, when he was asked about me he said that i had an issue with my absenses ,, ( which i have proof i do not) the manageress then said she would have to get another referance from a differant employer , was my boss allowed to say this ? i just think he has it in for me
