What effect(s) did the Age of Exploration have on the Scientific Revolution?

Poeple were exploring new lands, finding new things, making them realize that there might be new ways of doing things. People began coming up with ideas to make things easier. Also, mercantilism began to be practiced. More people began working in factories than farms, and women and children began to help support the family.
