ACL reconstruction?

I tore my ACL playing footy (AFL) and then late September I had it reconstructed. My recovery was slow because there was something restricting it which turned out to be an infection in the knee which didn't show visible signs of being there until the period between Christmas and new year. I was quickly put back into hospital and had 4 more operations to try and get rid of the infection. My last one was on the 15th Jan. I was just wondering if anyone else has been through this and what was their recovery time after?? I'm supposed to be going on a trip to Central Australia in Mid-March, do you think I have any chance of going?
